Gunpowder, treason and plot...


I don't know how long you've been reading this blog. If you're one of the people that's been checking my sporadic posts for more than a year, then you may remember my entry from November 3, 2004, Four. Stinking. Years.

I'm not going to repeat everything that I said a year ago; if you want to know, then read it yourself. But I'll tell you that, as the photograph testifies, I finally fulfilled my dream of attending the big celebration at Roundhay Park last night. And very enjoyable it was too. I went with a group of good friends, and it was everything I thought it would be, and more. We ate toffee apples. We watched fireworks. We enjoyed the heat of a huge bonfire. I purchased an overpriced, underflavoured cheeseburger. We revelled in the 400 year past torture and execution of a group of conspiratory Catholics.
